There's been a lot of talk in the last few years of the legendary buried West Vancouver snake run being dug up and restored to it's original state.
Found online:
"...That's when Calen Sinclare dropped his bombshell.
He said he made a double snake run - Seylynn is a single - in West Vancouver. I thought it was an urban myth there was one of these in West Van.
Sinclare told him the West Vancouver park was built in 1977, with the federal government paying around $20,000. With that date, David Bataille started research at West Vancouver Memorial Library. Old North Shore News clippings revealed the park was buried in February, 1984, following complaints.
Bataille's research revealed the park was on school grounds, so he then contacted School District No. 45, where staff provided a map which enabled Bataille and Dalen, 26, of West Vancouver, to find the site - in the 1700-block of Inglewood Avenue.
It's still sitting there, under four or five feet of gravel," said Bataille. "It's a piece of heritage buried in the dirt. It was like finding leprechaun's gold at the end of the rainbow."

PD and Sam McKinlay of Skull Skates were driving around doing errands in West Vancouver when PD mentioned to Sam that they're close to the site of the legendary old lost park. For some historical gratification Sam asked if PD could show him exactly where it was.
Upon entering the area, they saw that the neighboring school was getting a major overhaul, including a new playground near the site of the 'buried' park. To their complete astonishment, one of the double snake runs that were at the top of the skate park was exposed(?!). There were some workers nearby so PD asked them what happened to expose one of the small snake runs. One of the guys explained, "We were digging out the area and came upon the two buried ditches. We filled one for the sidewalk work and decided that the other winding ditch closer to the new playground is still functional enough to act as drainage. We banked up the end, layered it with a rougher exterior and added the rocks to make it look more like a creek when the water starts flowing."
Insane.
They let PD and Sam have some runs behind the fence. Check the photos below. PD was amazed that it still flowed a little like the original half of the double snake run. Crazy to think that the rest of the big bowl is still buried!
