Stories of the Skull Skates Salty Dog Maritimes Tour

Jun 20, 2009Skull Skates

"As much as I’ve been stoked to do tours in the past with other teams, there was something really sick about doing a tour with Skull Skates. Not only because it was the first tour of it’s kind for the much established core brand, but also because it was with a group of skateboarders who shared the same taste as me for terrain. For the first time, I was surrounded by skateboarders who could all agree on the same love for transition skating - and it definitely showed from demo to demo, session to session. Every park or spot that we hit, most of us would end up skating the exact same parts of it, and I feel like that not only inspired and motivated each of us to skate harder, but I think it also stoked out the groups of kids in each town who had never seen their spots skated like that before. We each had our own bags of tricks, and I felt like each one of us showcased an era of skateboarding that not only Skull Skates represents, but also what we all as individuals feel as though skateboarding means to us.

A special thanks needs to go to Barry Walsh, Marc Tison, Bill Danforth, and Brent Jordan for reminding me that street skating still hasn’t taken over the world."
