As spring crawls it's way to the surface in Vancouver, Skull Skates prepares to awaken from the cold, damp, dark slumber of winter. With eight new skate decks, eight new T-shirts, new wheels, a new collab Skullwing truck, plus other new Skull items scheduled for release May 1/12, Skull Skates continues it's push to make space by cleaning out a wide variety of consumer goods at blowout prices in the recently created DUMPING GROUNDS section of skullskates.com.

March begins the first two in a series of featured complete skateboards from Skull Skates. The GNC Bowlrider recounts the early days of Skull and is set-up comprised of completely deadstock (not reproduction) components. The vintage 6.75" x 30" solid Maple wedgekick deck is assembled with old school Sure Grip trucks, loose ball bearings with cone nuts and clear red seventies urethane wheels. Built with care from 100% vintage Canadian and American made (no China junk) parts and a steal at the featured price of just $99.99 each regular $160.00. Available HERE.

The 8" x 34" Cascade deck is one of Skull's most functional town and country shredders bridging the gap between a retro cruiser and a full on longboard. The traditional surf inspired shape features a 19" wheelbase and perfectly balanced tailpocket. Built with Tracker Trucks' recently reissued FulTrack 106mm trucks, Abec 5 gold sheild bearings, 65mm 78A high rebound radial Skull nylon cored wheels and full griptape, this hybrid cruiser, commuter, bomber is a smokin' deal at the featured price of only $149.99 each regular $225.00. Available HERE.

The Vancouver Parks Board in a move to reduce its operating budget is proposing the ridiculous measure of removing lifeguards from six Vancouver area beaches. Skull Skates urges skimboarders, swimmers and beach goers to sign the petition created by the lifeguards demanding that they be kept on duty during the peak summer months. Support the guards while keeping our beaches safe, sign the petition HERE.

Students in Vancouver will be out on spring break March 12th until the 23rd this year. Skull Skates would like to recommend that parents and kids stow away their electronic devices during this period and engage themselves in the tactile world by skateboarding, cycling, running, walking or whatever allows them to take advantage of their awesome city. For those that have not already, check out Skull Skates and PD's Hot Shop in their new location at 3734 West 10th ave near Alma street on Vancouver's Westside. [MAP HERE]
