CONGRATULATIONS
ON YOUR NEW SKIMBOARD. HERE ARE A FEW TIPS TO KEEP YOU AND YOUR SKIM IN
GOOD SHAPE FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE. 1) ALWAYS STORE YOUR SKIM IN A COOL AREA STOOD STRAIGHT OR LAYING FLAT. AVOID CONTACT TO HEATING DUCTS OR PROLONGED STORAGE IN THE BACK OF A HOT CAR ON SUNNY DAYS AS THIS MAY COOK THE MOISTURE OUT OF YOUR SKIM CAUSING IT TO LOSE ITS ROCKER AND/OR WARP. 2) AVOID CONTACT WITH ROCKS, ASPHALT OR CONCRETE PARKING LOTS, OTHER SKIMS OR FOREIGN OBJECTS. IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR SKIM REPAIR IT OR HAVE IT REPAIRED TO AVOID FURTHER DAMAGE TO YOUR SKIMS STRUCTURE. 3) KEEP THE BOTTOM OF YOUR BOARD CLEAN AND FREE OF WAX AND OTHER DEBRIS SO IT REMAINS SMOOTH AND WILL THEREFORE GLIDE FAST AND CLEAN. 4) KEEP THE TOP OF YOUR SKIMBOARD STICKY WITH EITHER WAX OR SOME OTHER GRIP SURFACE ESPECIALLY CONCENTRATED AROUND WHERE YOUR FEET USUALLY LAND. 5) STRETCH BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR SKIMMING SESSIONS AND ALWAYS EASE INTO THE FIRST FEW SESSIONS OF EACH SEASON. 6) WEAR SUNBLOCK AND A BUCKET HAT AND/OR SUNGLASSES EVEN IF IT LOOKS LIKE ITS NOT GOING TO BE THAT SUNNY. 7) PROGRESS AT YOUR OWN RATE. DONT BE AFRAID TO TRY NEW THINGS, BUT STAY WITHIN YOUR LIMITS AND DONT GET AHEAD OF YOURSELF. 8) BRING WATER TO THE BEACH. ALL THAT SPRINTING WILL MAKE YOU THIRSTY AND ITS IMPORTANT TO STAY HYDRATED. 9) TAKE WHAT YOU BRING. WE ALL APPRECIATE A CLEAN BEACH SO DONT LEAVE GARBAGE AND IF YOU SEE SOMEONE ELSES PICK IT UP. 10) SKIMBOARDING MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH. BY PARTICIPATING IN ACTIVITIES SUCH AS SKIMBOARDING YOU, AS AN INDIVIDUAL, ASSUME ALL RISK OF INJURY AND OR DEATH. USE COMMON SENSE AND PROCEED WITH CAUTION... YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! |
