Although longboards are not new to skateboarding, there has definitely been growth in the form starting from the mid nineties and continuing into the new millennium. With increased participation and advances in the design of equipment, longboarding promises to continue growing in popularity. Hardcore bombing and racing, cruising around town, applying longboards to transition riding or just adding a longboard to your skateboard quiver, all of these, as well as cross training for surfing and snowboarding, are moving forward thanks to their easy accessibility and potential for pure fun worldwide.
