The Skull Skates Direction series brings together 5 of skateboarding's most prolific and well known contemporary art directors. From Alien Workshop to Girl, Element, Fourstar, Stacks, Stereo, Delphi, Instant Winner, Crownfarmer, Rasa Libre and many more, this group of 5 dudes have been a driving influence behind a gaggle of today's most creative and best selling brands. The series is a new direction for Skull Skates in which guest artists are being invited to design boards to be produced in limited editions. Only 100 of each of the Direction Series boards have been released, each with a signed certificate of authenticity from the individual artists, putting a nail in the coffin as must haves for any serious collector.

Don Pendleton is an artist hailing from West Virginia. He spent 7 years doing skateboard graphics for Alien Workshop and participating in numerous group and collaboration exhibits all over the world. He is currently the graphic artist for Element Skateboards and is working on his own product line, 'Darkroom Labs.'

Bob Kronbauer is a photographer/designer/writer/idea haver. He spent the past few years in Los Angeles working in Girl Skateboards' Art Dump and is currently residing in Vancouver where he runs his independent clothing label, Crownfarmer, and works on freelance photography and design. Bob's first book of photography, Beach Glass, was released last year by Holy Water of London.

Craig Metzger is an artist currently living in Los Angeles California.
Metzger was born and raised in Queens, New York and lived in NYC up until this year. Metzger's work largely consists of hand cut paper, acrylic paint, collage and screen prints. His work is heavily layered using various textures and techniques to make a final piece. Metzger's work is heavily influenced by daily observations, Japanese folk art and Latin folk art. Metzger has been featured in various magazines, books and gallery shows.

Matt Irving
Hailing from British Columbia but currently residing in San Francisco, Matt Irving has acted as Art Director for Stereo and Element skateboards. Also working under the design studio name of Delphi, Matt and a handful of other designers have aided their creative abilities to Nike, iPath, Etnies,Transworld, Kangol, Jeenyus, and numerous others. Not content with Delphi being a design collective, it has recently morphed into a private label of Irving's, offering a tight range of organic cotton t-shirts with an accessories and custom hats line coming this spring. Michael Leon co-created the skate/lifestyle brands Commonwealth Stacks and Rasa Libre. He has also art directed the Fourstar Clothing line and contributed Graphics to Stussy, Marc Jacobs, and Virgin Records. He is currently Art Director of Global Apparel at Nike. Michael's artwork has been shown in Europe, Canada, and Japan, as well as three recent solo exhibitions in the US.
